ALL-ON-4™ (or fixed arch restoration)
ALL-ON-4™ is a revolutionary concept providing patients with fully functioning teeth on dental implants in a single procedure. This technology utilizes collaboration between both the restorative doctor and the oral surgeon. This merging of knowledge and experience achieves not only increased safety, but also a more precise implant placement. In addition, the fabrication of a final prosthesis is completed prior to the surgery. The computer-guided implant surgery can be done in an arthroscopic fashion without requiring any flap reflection. This benefits the patient in that there is less postoperative discomfort, less swelling, and less bruising. Patients can often resume their normal activities the next day.
The process begins when a CAT scan is taken of the patient’s jaw bone. This CAT scan allows for the generation of a three-dimensional model of the jaw bone that can then be used with virtual reality software to plan the implant placement without the presence of the patient. The results are a more accurate implant placement and less chair time for the patient.

FAQs
What makes ALL-ON-4 different from replacing teeth one at a time?
ALL-ON-4 is designed to replace a full arch of teeth using a smaller number of strategically placed implants. Instead of placing an implant for every missing tooth, this approach supports a complete set of fixed teeth with fewer implants, reducing overall treatment complexity.
Are ALL-ON-4 teeth fixed or removable?
ALL-ON-4 restorations are fixed, meaning they are attached to the implants and not removed by the patient. This differs from removable dentures and can provide a more stable feel during daily activities.
How does ALL-ON-4 compare to implant supported overdentures?
ALL-ON-4 provides a fixed solution, while implant supported overdentures are removable. ALL-ON-4 restorations are designed to stay in place at all times, whereas overdentures are taken out for cleaning.
Can ALL-ON-4 be done if bone loss is present?
ALL-ON-4 is often used in situations where bone loss has occurred. The implant positioning is planned using advanced imaging to determine whether this approach is suitable without additional procedures, or if preparatory treatment is needed.
What role does digital planning play in ALL-ON-4 treatment?
Digital planning allows surgeons to map implant placement before surgery using detailed imaging. This planning helps improve accuracy and allows the surgical team to design the procedure around the patient’s anatomy before treatment begins.
Who is typically evaluated for ALL-ON-4 treatment?
ALL-ON-4 is evaluated for individuals missing most or all teeth in an arch, or those whose remaining teeth cannot be saved. A consultation includes imaging and a surgical review to determine whether this fixed full-arch option is appropriate.
